It has been an energetic summer for team Franck-Steier Price Ltd (FSP) team as Ben and James got on their bikes and once again took part in both the Birmingham and Midlands Velo and the Prologis Bike Ride.
The pair started on the 12th May as Ben and James lined up at 6.30am in central Birmingham for the start of the Velo. A 100miles sportive undertaken on closed roads through Warwickshire, Coventry and Birmingham. Joining 15,000 other cyclists the boys smashed round the circuit in under 6 hours although they will admit the route was a little flat!
They got back on their bikes for the annual Prologis Bike Ride. The event, in it’s 10th year, brings together property professionals from across the UK with over 100 riders donning lycra for the 100miles.
Starting and finishing at Worcestershire County Cricket Club the riders took on the Malvern Hills with over 3,500 ft of climbing across the hilly route. The riders arrived back mid-afternoon and were treated to a well-deserved beer and the opportunity to put their feet up in front of the final session of Worcestershire County Championship match Vs Glamorgan. A BBQ and Hog Roast allowed riders to refuel and they were then entertained by Olympic Gold Cycling Medallist Dani Row MBE who talked through her training regime and the preparation that went into winning gold on Super Saturday at London 2012.
In total the boys cycled 400 miles, spending a combined 24 hours in the saddle, climbed 10,00 ft and burned 15,000 calories. Let’s just hope they have some energy left for that busy final quarter of the year!
